Actor's Studio

Discovery Camps have partnered with Lorna Whiston Schools. Established in 1980, Lorna Whiston has built an outstanding reputation for high quality education and teaching excellence across their signature programmes: English Enrichment, Speech & Drama and Preschools.

We are thrilled to have Lorna Whiston's dynamic team of highly experienced drama teachers leading our camp learning. Building creativity and confidence in every child at camp is fun and engaging with drama activities across improvisation and storytelling.

In addition this winter Discovery Camps will be partnering with ABA Theatre Academy to bring to you an open session for our 4 to 5 year olds.

Children work collaboratively with their camp friends and teachers to rehearse a show script throughout the week. Learning script lines, stage directions, queues and movements ready to put on a show!

Parents of our 6 to 8 year olds are invited to the Actor’s Studio show at the end of the camp week in Lorna Whiston’s brand new Black Box Studio. The space mimics the interiors of a professional theatre allowing students to experience performing on stage!

Parents of our 4 to 5 year olds are invited to join in an open session at the Glass Hall at SJI International School.

Oh No! Santa Claus has a fever! (Week 2 and 3)
Jingle all the way with us for this festive Actor's Studio! Its almost Christmas Eve, but guess what? Santa has a fever! Can he recover in time to help the elves deliver the presents to the children all across the world? With the help of Santa's darling wife Mrs Claus, and her special little elves, Christmas might be saved!

Click Clack Moo!! (Week 1)
Our story takes place down on the farm where we discovery the farmyard birds and animals are extremely unhappy with their living conditions. The cows have a BRIGHT IDEA and decide to write an official letter to the Farmer Giles. They type it on an old rusty typewriter they found in the back of the hay barn, in the hopes their demands will be met. Whoever heard of farm birds and animals complaining! How will it end?

Journey to the end of the Rainbow (Week 4)

Some say that at the end of the rainbow lies a pot of gold. Join us as we embark on a colourful, magical and dramatic journey as we discover what lies at the end of the rainbow. Using theatrical approaches like Teacher-in-Role and role-play, the young ones will have to tap into their creative minds as they are guided through this experiential imaginative adventure. What will we discover at the end of the rainbow? At the end of the week, parents are invited to join in the fun and be part of the adventure at the open session.

Food

Lunch, morning and afternoon snacks are included in the cost of your camp. What's more the food is cooked fresh and delivered daily by Michelin Star Celebrity Chef Emmanuel Stroobant.
