English Explorers

Discovery Camps have partnered with Lorna Whiston Schools. Established in 1980, Lorna Whiston has built an outstanding reputation for high quality education and teaching excellence across their signature programmes: English Enrichment, Speech & Drama and Preschools.

We are thrilled to have Lorna Whiston's dynamic team of highly experienced teachers leading our camp learning. They have designed a programme to spark children’s natural curiosity for learning, excite their imagination, nurture their creativity and develop their confidence and communication skills.

During the camp week English, Drama and Art activities engage and develop your child’s reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. All English activities are based around a central theme allowing children to build a deeper understanding of the topic and extend further their thinking and creative skills.

Whatever the Weather

Did you ever wonder how rainbows are formed? Did you know that every single snowflake is different? Stories, songs, role play, early reading and writing activities and art and craft are just some of the exciting activities in store for the lucky young learners who join this amazing discovery-based holiday camp.

Animal Magic

Young children are invariably fascinated with animals, and this brand-new holiday programme aims to tap on their natural curiosity. From bunnies to bears, and from puppies to crocodiles, our young learners will explore the wonderful world of animals whilst developing their language and literacy skills through and exciting range of hands-on learning activities.

Under the Sea (Week 1 & 3)

Young learners will improve their English language skills when they journey 'Under the Sea' on this five-day programme. Writing, reading, speaking and vocabulary skills will be developed as the children laugh with lobsters and study starfish. At the end of the week, the class will create their very own aquarium made up of their creative and written achievements.

Superheroes (Week 2)

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a language superhero! This programme for 6-8 year olds is designed to help young learners discover their own language super powers. Through stories, characters and creative activities our English Explorers will develop their reading, writing and speaking super powers and give their vocabulary and grammer skills a power boost.

Each day, the students will practice core PSLE skills in the context of age-appropriate and engaging themes. Our expert teachers will work on improving each child's areas of weakness, ultimately aiming to improve their grades in their grades in the PSLE English exams.
