LEGO® Robotics Level 1
Does your little one love to build and disassemble objects, and is already showing signs of having an analytical, engineering mind?
Then our Lego® Robotics classes in Singapore may be perfect way to nurture that potential!
These camps are just about assembling LEGO pieces.
In our Level 1 camps, you can give your a first introduction to science, engineering and maths, through an immersive and hands-on experience.
He/ She will have to work in teams to build a robot and programme it with a graphics-based software to perform functions.
How the Lego® Robotics camps will help your child:
-Provide an introduction to programming concepts such as sequential execution
-Enhance their decision-making skills
-Channel their energy and creativity to productive use
-Enable them to combine their mind and hands-on aptitude -skilfully, to create something
-Make them more effective team players and work with others to complete a project
Our Lego® Robotics camps are perfect for children between 6 and 12, and are divided into basic and advanced levels (Level 1 and 2).
Read more about the Level 1 camps below, or check out the Lego® Robotics Level 2 classes (only for ages 9 -12).
Ages 6 - 8: Lego® Wedo 2.0 Robotics
This is a simple but stimulating program that provides an introduction to creating Lego® robot models, while also helping your child learn basic science concepts.
Ages 9-12: Lego® Mindstorms EV3 Robotics
Mindstorms is a slighly more challenging platform which covers robot design and programming in more detail using various sensors and controls.
6 to 8 Years Old
LEGO® WeDo 2.0 Robotics
Our Lego® Robotics WeDo camp encourages analytical thinking gives kids exposure to various science topics such as physics, earth, space sciences, and engineering.
Throughout the camp week students learn how to build WeDo robot models.
For instance, one of the many robot models is a frog so students learn at the same time about stages of an amphibian’s life cycle and different frog species across the world!
1) Introduction to Lego® WeDo graphical based programming
2) Controlling robot movements with speed and timing controls
3) Using tilt and motion sensor to modify robot behaviour
This camp is best suited for children who:
1) Love to play with Lego bricks and enjoy building toy models
2) Have a keen sense of imagination and curiosity
3) Enjoy learning about the natural world and exploring how things work.
9 to 12 Years Old
LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 Robotics
Lego® Mindstorms EV3 is an internationally popular platform, ideally meant for children ages around 9 years and above, because of the relative higher level of thinking and skills needed to master it.
This camp starts off with an introduction to basic robot structural design, and is followed by more in-depth topics like gear ratios, speed and power contoril, mounting of sensors, and drive precision.
By the end of the camp week, children working in groups, will have built autonomous robots which can respond to their surroundings using various sensors.
- Introduction to EV3 graphical based programming
- Controlling robot movements with rotation sensors and timing controls
- Use of vaious sensors to program robots:
- Ultrasonic Sensors to detect obstacles
- Touch Sensors to control robots
- Light Sensors to perform line tracings
This camp is best suited for children who:
Is your child already familiar with these concepts, and now wants to try a more advanced level of Mindstorms EV3? Then you can sign her/him up for our Lego® Robotisc Level 2 camps.
- Like to play with LEGO bricks and enjoy building toy models
- Have a keen analytical mind and enjoy problem solving
- Are interested in learning robot programming
